About Something From Nothing: A Songwriting Experience with Mil's Trills
What's a song and how do you make one?
Something from Nothing takes kids through a gateway into the creative process. Using voice, movement and drawing, the audience is led through a collective experience that will have stories emerging and reveal the artist within!
Original music weaves throughout interactive melody, rhythm and lyric building exercises that illustrate themes of mindfulness and social emotional awareness. The unexpected will be navigated, imaginations will spark, and everyone will arrive at a place of musical wonder!
Mil's Trills is a Brooklyn-based children's music project dedicated to creating positive inclusive experiences that empower and embrace young audiences and families through music. Mil's Trills is led by musician and teaching artist Amelia Robinson who performs lively tunes on her electric ukulele with the help of a cast of musical guests. Her most recent album, Ridiculous Nonsense (NAPPA, Parents' Choice GOLD) emphasizes the value of play in the creative process.
Mil's Trills music was featured on Michelle Obama's children's album, Songs for a Healthier America, produced as part of the Let's Move! initiative.
