Seniors Advisory Committee

The Seniors Advisory Committee, formerly known as Seniors Advisory and Accessibility Committee, provides networking opportunities for individuals, service agencies and organizations working with our Seniors. We also undertake initiatives to provide information with regard to the many programs and services available to seniors through the City of Surrey and other various service agencies and organizations.

Council has restructured the advisory committees. To continue the work of SAC, Council has restructured the committee as a Seniors Planning Table (the “Planning Table”).  The Planning Table will continue to provide education and awareness through Focus on Seniors Forums, Seminars and workshops.  Topics will include, prevention and awareness of elder abuse, housing, transportation and mobility.

The Planning Table will be guided by City staff and community partner organizations who will liaise with the newly established Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee (PRCC), a standing committee of Council that includes representation from both Council and the community.
