Canada Post Service Disruption

At the end of October 2018, mail delivery may be interrupted or delayed by a labour disruption at Canada Post. This disruption may impact you if you are expecting a utility bill or planning to make a payment to the City by mail.

Online services are available to conduct services and make payments online. Review the options available in the MySurrey Portal.

Utility Bills & Property Taxes

Payments that are not received on time by the City of Surrey are subject to a 5% penalty regardless of the actions of an intermediary, such as Canada Post. However, you can keep up to date on your account balances and avoid late payment penalties by using these handy alternatives and online services.


You can receive email notifications when your tax and utility bills are ready. Create an online account at through MyPropertyAccounts. After you login, you can view current and past tax and utility bills and check your account balance. Note: the first time you login, you will need an account number and access code from the front of a utility or property tax bill.

Payment Options

  • Pay online or by phone through your financial institution. Learn more about bank payment options.
  • Pay in person at City Hall (13450 104 Ave.) or Surrey Operations Centre (6651 148 St)
  • Drop off cheque payments in drop box locations
    • Surrey Operations front entrance dropbox
    • City Hall 24 hr drop box located on the south side of the building (plaza area)
    • City Hall P1 parkade mailbox

Upcoming Bills & Due Dates

The below notices are scheduled to be sent and may be impacted. It may also impact you if you are planning to send these payments by mail.

Metered Utilities Area 1:

  • Statements are scheduled to be sent at the end of September
  • Payments are due November 2

Metered Utilities Area 2:

  • Statements are scheduled to be sent at the end of October
  • Payments are due December 2

Property Tax Reminder Notice:

  • Reminder notices are scheduled to be sent at the beginning of November
  • Payments are due December 31
