East Clayton Transit Oriented Area Plan

On December 16, 2013, Council authorized staff to proceed with community consultation on a Transit-Oriented Area ("TOA") Land Use Concept for a portion of the East Clayton Neighbourhood Concept Plan (“NCP”) that is currently designated for Business Park and some Commercial uses. The study area contains approximately 16 hectares (40 acres) and is bounded by 188 Street to the west, Fraser Highway to the south, the future 192 Street diversion to the east, and a residential laneway just south of 67 Avenue to the north, all as illustrated in the TOA Context Map

The objective of the East Clayton TOA Land Use Concept process is to produce a land use plan to guide future transit-oriented development within the subject study area that will integrate fully with future rapid transit facilities on Fraser Highway and create a high quality, sustainable mixed-use center for East Clayton.

The TOA will include a land use concept and general design guidelines to ensure appropriate building and streetscape design, and promote the area as a unique transit oriented development in Clayton. Consultation with property and business owners in and around the area began in January 2014.
