Liquid Waste Management Plan

The Metro Vancouver Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) is a strategy to help protect the environment while managing the increasing amounts of liquid waste produced by our population.

In 2010, Metro Vancouver, in conjunction with its member municipalities and residents, developed a plan to deal with point source pollutants, such as sewer outfall/overflows, as well as non-point source pollutants, such as possible runoff from urban roadways.

Surrey is actively pursuing the requirements outlined in the LWMP by managing point source and non-point source pollutants and undertaking Integrated Stormwater Management Plans (ISMP).
