Releaf Tree Planting

A group planting a large shade tree on a boulevard

Help grow Surrey's urban forest by planting trees and shrubs in Surrey parks and along boulevards!

Since 1991, volunteers have planted over 10,000 trees throughout Surrey. Thousands of volunteers have made an impact, including:

  • Community and neighbourhood groups
  • Elementary and secondary schools
  • Faith groups

Every tree planted creates shade, improves air quality, provides food and shelter for wildlife, and boosts biodiversity in parks. We'll provide the plants, shovels, and instruction - you just have to bring your love for beautifying our City and enhancing the trees in Surrey.

Get Involved

Contact stewardship@surrey.ca or 604-501-7687 to request a planting for your group. Releaf takes place in April and October. Due to the size of the trees, April plantings are limited to grades five and up while the smaller plants in October can accommodate all grades. Space is limited for these planting programs, so contact us early to avoid disappointment!

Releaf Badges

Groups can purchase Releaf badges for $2 per child, including tax. Please let us know how many badges you would like when requesting a planting.
