Learn about how the South Asian Family Strengthening Team supports caregivers of at-risk youth.

Designed for South Asian families who feel their children or youth may be at risk.

Professional staff from immigrant backgrounds support caregivers of at-risk and gang involved youth in the Newton area, with a focus on immigrant and refugee families. This is an outreach program that meets families in preferred locations, including home visits.

Individual plans are developed for participants including activities such as developing life skills and tools to strengthen family connections. The program supports caregivers, and especially fathers, to help them build strong relationships with their children.

This service is designed to help South Asian families who feel their children or youth may be at risk of gang involvement, are exhibiting negative behaviours and live primarily in the Newton area.

This program is delivered by Options Community Services Society (OCS).
