Learn about the Youth Hub for Co-operative Enterprise, designed for newcomer youth in Surrey.

The Youth Hub for Co-operative Enterprise is an enhanced program that helps groups of youth from newcomer families start their own enterprises. In doing so, the program aims to provide youth with important life skills, as well as change the existing narratives around newcomer youth in Surrey.

Each business is set up as a worker-owned co-operative and encourages youth to work together collaboratively and run their co-op democratically. Currently, there are 13 active co-operatives, with the potential to support more.

This program is delivered by the Solid State Community Society.
