As part of our phased approach, Parks, Recreation & Culture facilities will gradually begin to re-open, starting on August 17 with the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex (arena only). More gradual re-openings will happen on September 8, September 9, and mid-October. Dates are subject to change. Follow for specific facility re-opening and safety protocol updates.

Recreation Facility Update

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to maintain our facilities for a safe and efficient reopening. 

While we are closed, we are taking this opportunity to proceed with annual maintenance projects for 2020 as well as ongoing facility maintenance, equipment testing and servicing, enhanced deep cleaning and tending to the Intergenerational Garden in support of the Surrey Food Bank.

Arts Programs

South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre and the Semiahmoo Arts Council offers a variety of arts programs to the community to participate in. Join an art class, attend an art event or drop by the facility to view an exhibition in the Turnbull gallery.


South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre features accessible washrooms, 8 accessible parking stalls and a hearing loop located in gym #3. There are accessible picnic areas right outside the facility. See below for more information on the accessible features of the fitness studio and weight room.

  • Enjoy savings by purchasing swipe, 1-month or 1-year passes if you plan to participate regularly. Use your recreation pass at any facility for drop-in: swim, skating, fitness, weights, sports and more! Fees are valid from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, and are subject to change without notice. Our 1-month and 1-year passes are valid at all City-operated facilities. All prices include taxes.

    • Active Hands, weight-lifting hooks, loop resistance bands & wrist/ankle weights
    • Many pieces of equipment are adjustable or can have the seat removed for wheelchair access
  • Fitness Studios expand
  • We offer 4,000 square feet of fitness space with a hardwood sprung floor and two walls of mirrors. We also have TRX suspension training classes and a spin studio.

  • Preschool expand
  • We have two dedicated preschool rooms at our facility and one offsite preschool, Elgin Centre. Learn about our preschool programs for more information. 

  • Youth expand
  • Join us in the Youth lounge to play pool or foosball or visit our outdoor skate park.

  • Seniors expand
  • We have a range of seniors activities and programs. Seniors are also invited to visit us at Sources Connections Café and the Intergenerational garden.
