Park Information

Hi-Knoll Park, located just inside the Surrey/Langley border, offers a scenic nature trail walk through forest and meadow habitats. The walk is 1.5 kilometres long and takes about 30 minutes. Please note that during the rainy season, the entire area north of the Nicomekl bridge becomes inaccessible due to flooding.

Park features

In the northern section of the park, you will find a meadow and seasonal swamp where ducks and swallows gather next to the Nicomekl River. It's a great spot for birdwatching!

In the southern section lies a wooded area providing the unique conditions that are needed for lovely fawn lilies to grow. Uncommon in Surrey's parks, these beautiful wildflowers' delicate blossoms make an appearance in the park's shady areas in early summer. If you're lucky enough to find these delicate white or pink flowers, please don't pick them so everyone can enjoy their beauty.

History

The land for this park was gifted to the City in 1974 Doris Kathleen Skelton. Born to pioneering parents, Doris and her husband also sought land of their own and purchased Hi-Knoll Farm in 1947. Doris loved the land so much that she passed it on as a park for us explore and appreciate long into the future. A cairn stands inside the fence on Colebrook Road which divides the 25 hectare plot of land.
