Explore and learn about nature during Environmental Extravaganza! Environmental Extravaganza is an 8 week series of events that take place between April 13 and June 9, 2019.

The Whales in Our Waters

Learn about whales in our waters with an interactive photo slideshow. Discuss the threats facing them, the research that is being done to protect them, and how you can get involved in their conservation by reporting your sightings.

Electric Vehicle Information Session

Learn to Fish

Youth ages 5-15 can learn the basics of freshwater fishing and give it a try! This two-hour session includes fishing time on Green Timbers Lake. All equipment provided, parent supervision required. Pre-registration required; go to Spaces are limited so book early!

Youth Invasive Plant Removal

Drop in, get your hands dirty and meet other youth as we remove invasive plants and clean up litter in the park. No experience needed! Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park Open House

Soar through the treetops in a bucket truck ride. Interact with grass roots volunteers who protect urban forests in Surrey. Explore the forest with our forest fairy at 2:00pm, then enjoy nature crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, and more.

World Oceans Day

Discover singing fish, underground bees, and condo-dwelling swallows at Blackie Spit Park this World Ocean Day. Enjoy a marine touch tank, join a naturalist on a nature walk, participate in a Shoreline Cleanup and Discovery BioBlitz. Dress for the weather, bring water and a hat. Don’t forget your camera!
