School Program at the Surrey Nature Centre

Public Programs

Surrey Nature Centre

The Surrey Nature Centre offers a variety of programs for all ages including walks, talks, and story time.

Environmental Extravaganza

Explore and learn about Surrey's natural environment during the Environmental Extravaganza held each year from April to June.

Park Play

Join us each summer in a park near you for Park Play, a variety of free and fun activities for families.

School Programs

Park Stewards School Program (K-7)

Connect your students with a local park through a combination of different in-class presentations, teacher training, hands-on stewardship activities, and teacher-led experiences.

Surrey Nature Centre Programs (K-7)

Take your students on a curriculum-linked nature exploration field trip with the Surrey Nature Centre.

Lend-a-Hand (K-12)

Sign up your class or school club for a hands-on cleanup project in your neighbourhood park. Groups commit to volunteering monthly to pick up litter to keep your park beautiful. Training and all tools are provided.

Salmon Marshals

For projects involving fish habitat, please check out the Salmon Marshal Program.

Student Employment Opportunities

Interested in working in parks? Both the Bear Creek and Park Play programs employ post-secondary students from June to August every year. Please check career opportunities in December/January for more information.


There are also opportunities with the Salmon Habitat Restoration Program (SHaRP) and Surrey's

Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP).
