Plan Ahead for School’s Out Days

School’s Out Days happen in accordance with SD36 professional development days. At City of Surrey we have a wide variety of programs and activities that are offered on Pro-D days throughout the year.

Children and youth can enjoy the day doing something active, creative and entertaining, while parents can enjoy a stress-free day at work or home knowing their kids are having fun in the community.

For the upcoming Schools Out days on October 25 and November 8 we have the following programs available:

Public Skating

October 25 & November 8 l Various times and locations

Lace up those skates at Surrey's arenas! Our first public skate at the new North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex kicks-off on September 30 from 11:15am-12:45 pm. Not only is this a value skate time with discounted rates, but skate rentals will be free that day only. Check out the public skate times at all arenas.

Fun Zone

October 25 & November 8 | Various times and locations

Camps include age appropriate programming for children 6 to 12 years. Activities include sports, arts, crafts, music, dance, games and possibly outdoor activities. Camp Connections may be available for extended camp hours. Please check with the facility in your area for specific details.

Cook and Play

October 25 | 9am–3pm | Kensington Prairie Community Centre

Keep your kids moving all season long! Your children will enjoy new and exciting crafts, sports, games and learn how to cook cool spring treats.

Kids Who Cook

October 25 & November 8 | 9am–3pm | Bridgeview Community Centre

The pantry is open! Children will learn to create a variety of healthy and fun foods. You will even make your own recipe book.


October 25 | 10am-3pm | Museum of Surrey

All aboard for a day off! Drop-in to dress up like a conductor, make crafts, watch movies and take a photo with our train selfie.

Wizard of Oz

November 8 | 9am–3pm | Historic Stewart Farm

Follow the yellow brick road through the farm with the characters from this classic children's tale. Battle flying monkeys and meet the great wizard himself.

Art MashUp Circus Circus!

November 8 | 9am–3pm | Surrey Arts Centre

Clowning around is the name of the game! Spend half the day learning circus skills and creating your own clown character and spend the other half making artworks that will make your sides split! Surrey Arts Centre instructors are experienced art educators and practicing artists.

Art MashUp Monster Mash

October 25 | 9am–3pm | Surrey Arts Centre

Nights are getting longer...spend half the day exploring your spooky side with monster-themed artwork and the other half doing a variety of drama activities and storytelling games inspired by Halloween. Surrey Arts Centre instructors are experienced art educators and practicing artists.

H2O Sports

October 25 & November 8 | 9am–3pm | Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre

Be prepared for plenty of action with this popular camp! Activities include games, crafts, daily public swim times, along with a leadership skill opportunity for older participants. Please check with the facility of your choice for specific details.

Swim and Skate

October 25 & November 8 | 9am–3pm | Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex

Participate in swimming and skating activities, along with games and crafts. Skate and helmet rentals are included in fee. Parents/guardians MUST accompany children on the first day to fill out medical forms.
