Four Seasons at the Fen presents a photo exhibition in combination with other related events.

Four Seasons at the Fen Opening Reception

February 21, 2019 (7-9pm)

Location: Turnbull Gallery in the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre, 14601 - 20th Avenue

Inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons this photography exhibition and community event features images of the Serpentine Fen captured over the space of one calendar year by local photographer and arts advocate Barbara Cooper. Barbara’s keen eye for composition and her sense of place communicates nature in transition through the seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

FENtastic Saturday!

Location: Turnbull Gallery in the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre, 14601 - 20th Avenue

Meet stewards of the Serpentine Fen and other local environmental groups. This drop-in event includes exhibitions, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the entire family. Presenters include Ducks Unlimited, Friends of Semiahmoo Bay, Hancock Wildlife Foundation, Serpentine Enhancement Soc., White Rock & Surrey Naturalists, and Wild Birds Unlimited.

Guided Walk at Serpentine Fen

Location: Serpentine Fen parking lot at the west end of 44th Avenue off King George (behind Art Knapp's Nursery)

Join Liz Walker of the White Rock & Surrey Naturalists and discover birds and other delights of this local wetlands conservation area. Dress warmly.

Writing the Rhythms of Nature

March 2, 2019. (1:30-3:30pm)

Location: Turnbull Gallery in the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre, 14601 - 20th Avenue

A poetry writing workshop that explores images and poetic form, in conjunction with photographs in the Four Seasons at the Fen exhibition. Led by author and Surrey Civic Treasure, Heidi Greco.

The Birds, The Fen & The Pacific Flyway

March 5, 2019 (7-8:30pm)

Location: Turnbull Gallery in the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre, 14601 - 20th Avenue

An Informative talk about the Serpentine Wildlife Management area and its importance as part of the Fraser River Delta and Pacific Flyway migration routes. With Anne Murray (naturalist, author) and Matt Christensen (conservationist, Ducks Unlimited Canada).

Discover and learn about wetlands birds in the Serpentine conservancy area, with experienced naturalists, Al & Jude Grass. Dress warmly. This free walk is sponsored by Wild Birds Unlimited.
