Help Shape Truck Parking Options in Surrey

Are you interested in helping to shape a multi-faceted, economically and environmentally sustainable approach to the complex issue of commercial truck parking within the city?

If you are a trucker who lives, works and/or parks your commercial truck in the city or a citizen interested in the issues, please participate in the Task Force’s second round of public engagement.

Background

Council has established a Truck Parking Task Force focused on increasing the supply of authorized parking facilities for commercial trucks within Surrey. To generate practical and effective solutions by early 2020, getting the input of a wide range of local truckers and residents throughout the process is key.

Now in Step 4 of a five-step process, staff will present and solicit public input on draft options under consideration for Surrey’s Trucking Parking Strategy.

Since the Discovery Open House held in March 2019, staff have reviewed stakeholder and public input on the existing issues and opportunities; studied best practices assessment from other jurisdictions; and undertaken technical reviews to develop potential options.

Please come to to this second round of public engagement to provide your input on draft options to help shape possible solutions. Staff will be there to listen and answer questions.

Online Feedback

Can't make it in person? While the open house offers a great opportunity to discuss ideas with staff, it's not the only way to get involved.

An online survey will be available on the Truck Parking Task Force webpage from September 30 to October 21, 2019.
