This event has been cancelled due to global concern about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. All events organized by City of Surrey that do not comply with public health orders have been postponed or cancelled until further notice to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Learn about the opportunities and culture of a fire service career through this one-day workshop. You'll get to meet with experienced female firefighters from the Surrey Fire Service.

Topics that will be discussed include the various steps of the recruitment process and the physical skills required of a firefighter.

You will also have the opportunity to practice these skills for yourself and receive tips from fire service fitness instructors.

One-day workshops are available for:

  • female youth, ages 15-18; and
  • female adults, age 19+

Women’s adult workshops (19+) for 2020 have been scheduled on the following Saturdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Surrey Fire Service Training Facility on 14915 64 ave.
