Changing the Narrative: Indigenous-Made Monthly Matinee

Celebrate the rich, varied, and unique perspectives of Indigenous-made cinema! We will be showing monthly matinees, ranging from documentaries and dramas to comedies and animation. Complete with post-film discussion, special guests, and refreshments. Free and open to the public.

Join us from 1−3pm on February 15 and March 21, 2020.

ćəsnaʔəm, the city before the city (2017)

In late 2011, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation learned that a 108-unit condo development was being planned at one of their ancestral village sites without prior consultation. The film commemorates the resolution of a dramatic and compelling moment in the history of the city now known as Vancouver.

Directed by Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers. The film c̓əsnaʔəm, the city before the city is distributed by Moving Images Distribution.
