City of Surrey has received $91,114 from the Department of Canadian Heritage, Government of Canada, to complete the purchases of furniture and specialized equipment to support arts operations at Clayton Community Centre.

This funding was provided through the Canada Cultural Spaces Program, in the Specialized Equipment & Feasibility Studies Component stream. Equipment purchased for the Clayton Community Centre will support professional artists in creating and presenting their work, while improving access to arts and culture for all.

Planned activities include an artist in residence program, theatre performances and recitals, digital video content recording, registered courses, and other special events. This programing will increase local opportunities for residents to come to the Centre and be inspired, learn new skills, make art together, and share their creativity with their community.

The Clayton Community Centre has been designed to meet the high demand for increased dedicated arts spaces. Learn more about the Clayton Community Centre.
