April 7, 2022 – The City of Surrey's South Campbell Heights (SCH) plan will help address the industrial land supply shortage across the region and balances this need with protection of environmentally sensitive land.

The SCH plan is estimated to generate between 10,000 – 12,000 new jobs and provides a real opportunity to address regional challenges of new supply of business employment over the next 10-15 years. Along with the employment, the SCH Plan will also provide regional level protection of sensitive ecosystems through the proposed inclusion of 86 hectares of land into the 'Conservation and Recreation' designation. This includes areas along the Little Campbell River.

The Metro Vancouver Board of Directors approved the SCH Plan in February by passing amendments to the Regional Growth Strategy.
