For the first time, the City of Surrey will be hosting the Special Olympics BC Summer Games on July 8-11, 2021. The Special Olympics BC Summer Games brings more than 1,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from communities across BC, with athletes ranging from age 2 to age 89. In addition, more than 1,000 volunteers take part in this event.
Athletes from BC and the Yukon will be participating in the following sports:
- 10-pin bowling
- Athletics
- Basketball
- Bocce
- Golf
- Powerlifting
- Rhythmic Gymnastics
- Soccer
- Softball
- Swimming
