Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey celebrates BC Seniors Week on June 5-11, 2022 and will offer a wide range of free activities and events in person and online.

“BC Seniors Week celebrates such an important message and recognizes that keeping our seniors active, healthy and connected through recreational, arts and culture programming is essential to their health and well-being,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “This year, a variety of events will be available for our seniors to participate in person or online. Regardless of age, I welcome everyone to join in and be a part of BC Seniors Week.”

BC Seniors Week is an annual celebration to acknowledge and celebrate the integral role seniors play in communities across British Columbia. In recognition of Seniors Week, we invite you to explore the many free activities and events being held throughout the week. Activities include, Drawing in the Park, ‘Try it’ Zumba, Fitness Class, Literature, Food and Finance, a History Talk, musical performances, special events and much more!

The City of Surrey is committed to building healthy communities and recognizes the value and contributions of older adults and their integral role in building healthy communities. The City is leading the way in supporting healthy active aging through its Age Friendly Strategy for Seniors, a framework that ensures seniors, families and caregivers are supported through advocacy, policy, partnering and service delivery.
