The City of Surrey Lowering Flags to Half-mast in Memory of the 215 Young Lives Lost at the Former Kamloops Residential School
The City of Surrey will fly flags at half-mast to remember and honour the 215 children whose remains were discovered at the site of a former Kamloops residential school. The heartbreaking legacy of the residential school system is a dark and shameful chapter in Canada’s history. The flags will be lowered tomorrow at all civic buildings and will fly at half-mast for 215 hours in memory of each young life lost.
