Handmade Arts Market Returns to Surrey Art Gallery this Holiday Season

Surrey, BC – Surrey Art Gallery Association (SAGA) invites art and craft lovers to their annual Heart to Home Holiday Market at the Surrey Arts Centre (13750 88 Avenue) on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, November 28, 2021 from noon to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. Proof of vaccination will be required.

There will be plenty of local items for shoppers to browse within a large space, as well as the opportunity to meet many of the artists who will bring along more of their works than currently fits in the gift shop.

Some new gift shop artists to note are Flavia Chan whose booth will be filled with adorable pins, stickers, and quirky illustrations, as well as Valerie Davidson-Oar, an artist who is Anishinaabe and makes brightly coloured, long-beaded earrings and other jewellery that reflect her First Nations ancestry.

Old favourites will be back too, such as ceramicist Murray Sanders who will be giving demos on the potter’s wheel and displaying his masterfully crafted, functional ware.

The Heart to Home Holiday Market takes place in the Studio Theatre at Surrey Arts Centre. The market proudly features amazing pieces from local artists. Shoppers will find handmade chocolates, ceramics, homemade jams and jellies, hand-felted and hand-knit scarves and hats, jewelry, paintings, prints, photographs, cards, and more!
