Surrey, BC – The City of Surrey invites you to join Our City, a new campaign to empower and inspire the community to take an active role in enhancing neighborhoods.

“Our City is about fostering civic pride, forging community connections and collaboration, and enhancing the quality of life and livability in neighborhoods across Surrey," said Mayor Brenda Locke. "By encouraging and celebrating the actions of people at the neighbourhood and community level, collectively we can create the community life and neighbourhoods we want to experience in Surrey.”

Through the Our City campaign, residents, businesses, organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate in neighborhood improvement projects, events, cleanup initiatives, attend grant workshops, and share their ideas and projects to celebrate and inspire others. Grants of up to $3,000 are available to fund neighborhood improvement projects, as well as a range of tools and resources.

Programs that will be promoted at various points in the Our City campaign include:

  • Neighbourhood Enhancement Grants
  • Neighbourhood Event Kits
  • Block Parties
  • Neighbourhood Cleanup Kits
  • Community Banners
  • Community Picnics
  • Block Watch

The Our City campaign highlights ways to get involved and provides grants, tools, resources and support to bring projects to life. Whether it's a community garden, art project, block party, or park improvement, your ideas can make a difference.
