The City of Surrey’s Park Play program is back this summer encouraging families to get outdoors and enjoy a range of free park-based activities.

Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey’s Park Play program is back this summer encouraging families to get outdoors and enjoy a range of free park-based activities. City staff will be stationed at various parks throughout the summer offering staff-led activities and self-guided kits for families to enjoy while visiting the park. The play kits include equipment like balls, skipping ropes and catchers with some locations also offering spray park items like sprayers, bubbles and sponge balls.  

City staff will lead two scheduled group games at each site. Park games such as bocce and Spike Ball will also be available to borrow to play with family and friends.  

Park Play times and locations are as follows:

  • Mondays from 12pm to 2pm at Hjorth Road Park and Fleetwood Park and from 4pm to 6pm at Francis Park
  • Tuesdays from 12pm to 2pm at Cloverdale Athletic Park and Beaver Creek Heights Park and 4pm to 6pm at Hazelgrove Park and Royal Kwantlen Park
  • Wednesdays from 12pm to 2pm at Unwin Park and Bakerview Park and from 4pm to 6pm at Evershine Park and Edgewood Park
  • Thursdays from 12pm to 2pm at Redwood Park and Holly Park and from 4pm to 6pm at Clayton Park and Hawthorne Rotary Park
  • Fridays from 12pm to 2pm at Forsyth Park and Erma Stephenson Park and from 4pm to 6pm at Bear Creek Park 

Parent participation is required. Staff are not responsible for participants. Park Play runs until August 26.  

Park Play is one of the many programs, activities and events offered by Surrey Parks to encourage residents and visitors to connect with the outdoors and celebrate our parks throughout the year as part of supporting an engaged and healthy community.
