Surrey, B.C. – Surrey City Council have adopted a name and the design concept for a new neighborhood park entering the design phase in Clayton Heights. Situated along the Hazelgrove Greenway between 72 Avenue and 191 Street, this park serves both the West Clayton and East Clayton Neighbourhood Concept Plan (NCP) areas.

“Parks and green spaces are integral in a fast-growing city like Surrey,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “That’s why Council has made it a priority to invest in more parkland to add to our inventory whenever the opportunity arises. Salmonberry Park will provide high quality outdoor amenities that are vital to build a healthy and thriving community.”

When complete Salmonberry Park will be 2.2-hectares (5.5 acres) in size. It will feature an adventure playground, bike park, social gathering spaces, open lawn areas and a nature trail.

This project is part of the City’s major capital projects approved by City Council for the Five-Year (2021-2025) Financial Plan as part of Council’s commitment to invest in park infrastructure and increase public access to green spaces, social spaces and active spaces.
