Statement from the Mayor: Celebrating Vaisakhi Day in Surrey

Preparations are well underway in Surrey for Canada’s largest Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade that will be held on Saturday. This long-awaited festival is expected to have an unprecedented number of people attending from near and far.

What a great opportunity for Surrey to host the world in our vibrant city. After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, I am excited for the return of one of Surrey’s signature events. The Vaisakhi Parade is an opportunity to reunite and reconnect with diverse communities from Surrey and beyond. I want to extend a warm welcome to all of you and wish everyone a safe and Happy Vaisakhi.
