Surrey, BC – The City of Surrey is proud to host the world-renowned Canadian Tire Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival (WickFest) at North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex and Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex from February 2 to 5, 2023.

“Sport tourism is an important part of our economic diversity in Surrey. Working with WickFest and the Surrey Falcons continues to shine a light on the value we see in working with both local and national or international groups to stimulate business in Surrey,” said Tara Cleave, Support Services and Accessibility Manager at the City of Surrey. “It’s great to see these types of events coming back to life!”

In partnership with Hayley Wickenheiser and the Surrey Falcons, this world-class event attracts teams from around the world and offers more than just hockey – it promotes empowerment and leadership skills young women can use on and off the ice.

“Surrey Falcons have a strong female hockey program. We believe in continually seeking new ways to strengthen and grow the sport, and we are confident a partnership with WickFest is one of the tools we can use to do just that,” said Shane Cebuliak, President of Surrey Female Hockey Association.

After a two-year hiatus, due to the pandemic, WickFest returns for its 11th year. WickFest as one of the largest and most celebrated female hockey tournaments in the world.

“We do some really special things at our Surrey event that we don’t do at other locations and that is because of the strong partnership with the City of Surrey and the Falcons,” said Hayley Wickenheiser, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist and event founder.

Hockey is at the heart of the event, but there are also workshops, clinics, skills camps and so much more. For more information, visit www.wickfest.com.
