Surrey, BC – The 11th annual Canadian Tire Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival (WickFest) is back on Surrey ice from February 2 to 5, 2023 at North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex and the Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex, featuring a wide-range of events and activities to experience and enjoy.

“Surrey is proud to support and host the premier showcase for female hockey,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “WickFest will bring together teams from across Canada and the United States and I would like to invite all to come down and cheer on the incredible athletes taking to the ice. There is also a full line-up of events and family-friendly activities planned, so mark it on your calendar to attend.”

WickFest is a great opportunity to showcase female hockey and encourage more young girls to try the sport.  This year’s festival will feature opportunities for para hockey and the Fire & Ice Game on Saturday, February 4. Don’t miss this fun and family-friendly event at the North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex.

Over 80 teams from as far as Atlantic Canada and the United States will compete in Surrey. Games will be open to the public to watch. Visit wickfest.com for ticket and event information. 100% of event profits go to JumpStart and Right to Play.

“We’re looking forward to the largest and most successful event to date” said Hayley Wickenheiser, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist and event founder. “We’re so thankful to the City of Surrey for providing support and space for our tournament to grow and aid in providing an opportunity for young girls to try a sport they may not otherwise have considered!”

The City of Surrey would like to thank WickFest, the Surrey Falcons and our Sport Surrey partners: Discover Surrey and the Surrey Hotel and Motel Association.
