Park Information

This new 0.25 hectare (0.6 acre) neighbourhood park (temporarily named 72k Greenbelt) is located in South Newton near the corner of 62 Ave and 138 St. Archibald Creek runs through 72K Greenbelt from the south, before joining the Serpentine River and eventually flowing into Mud Bay.

Park Planning Phase

The City of Surrey is excited to be in the planning phase of the 72K Greenbelt. This process includes planning the protection, design, development and operation of the future park. The South Newton neighbourhood is identified as an area that will benefit greatly from a new public greenspace. The 72K Greenbelt plan will be guided by community feedback through various public engagement opportunities following the completion of an environmental assessment.

In February 2021, residents were invited to take part in an online survey to help guide the planning and naming of 72K Greenbelt in South Newton. The information we gathered will help us start developing a vision for the future of this park.
