Park information

Hyland Creek Park is a large, predominantly natural area, park that stretches throughout Newton from King George Blvd through to 144 Street. Several important fish bearing streams, including Hyland Creek, run through the park and drain east into the Serpentine River.

Although the majority of the park is intended as a natural conservation area to protect the fish-bearing streams, you'll find a number of trails and paths weaving through the park, connecting to the surrounding neighbourhood. There are good trailheads at the ends of the 65 and 65A Avenue cul-de-sacs (just east of 138 Street) and from the end of 140 Street, south of 66 Avenue.

There is also a small playground in the centre of the park behind Hyland Creek Elementary.
