Host an Event in a Park
Find out how you can book your next private or public function in a Surrey Park.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the health and safety of our residents is our top priority. As such, we are following the BC Centre for Disease Control's mandate that all event organizers cancel any gathering larger than 50 people.
City of Surrey parks and beaches remain open, but all users must be following proper social distancing measures by keeping 2 metres of physical distance from each other to minimize the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.
Surrey has some of the most beautiful parks in the lower mainland. Whether you want to enjoy a summer picnic, have a small wedding ceremony in a park, or host an event for under 50 people, we're happy to help you plan your next event in a City park.
When to Contact the City About Your Park Event
The City of Surrey is taking direction from the BC Ministry of Health and the Centre for Disease Control. We are currently limiting gatherings to under 50 people to minimize the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission. At this time, the City of Surrey is not issuing permits for gatherings or community events but will issue permits for a limited amount of outdoor fitness classes at select artificial turf fields.
To notify the City of your event, call 604-501-5050 or email@example.com. Please note that due to a large number of park use inquiries, staff response time is currently about 7 days. Thank you for your patience.
Food, Entertainment or Services at Your Event
If you are hiring someone to provide a service (generally food or entertainment) at your event, you must provide the following on behalf of the vendors you’ve hired:
- $5,000,000 liability insurance that names the City of Surrey as an additional insured. Insurance should note the name of the park your event is at but should be issued to City of Surrey
- A City of Surrey Business Licence
- A completed Hold Harmless Agreement
Examples of services or vendors often hired for parks events include, but are not limited to: bouncy castles, photo booths, face painting, magicians, catering and food trucks.
Event organizers can submit all necessary documents to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact 604-501-5050.
