*Monday August 4, 2014: Facility hours are reduced - 8:00am - 8:00pm.

Monday & Wednesday: 6:00am - 10:00pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 6:00am - 9:30pm
Friday & Saturday: 6:00am - 9:00pm
Sunday: 8:00am - 8:00pm

Monday - Wednesday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Thursday - Friday: 6:00am - 8:30am
Sunday: 8am - 8:30am, and 7pm - 8pm

About the Newton Recreation Centre

The Newton Recreation Centre, formerly known as the Newton Wave Pool, now includes a new gymnasium, weight room, youth centre, spin bikes, fitness room, multi-purpose rooms and the only wrestling room in all of Surrey's recreation centres. We offer a variety of drop-in and registered programs for preschool, children, youth, adults and seniors. 

Our new gymnasium features

  • Gym floor made of Connor ElastiPlus, a polyurethane flooring system
  • 7200-square foot gymnasium lined for 1 standard basketball court or 2 volleyball courts

Wave Pool

Check out the Wave Pool. Our waves are the biggest in the West! The wave pool provides fun and excitement for swimmers of all ages. Public swims are full of great activities and prizes for children. 

Features include a Pirates Water Fortress, 63-metre long waterslide, and much more. 

Programs

Join us for programs like Adult Swim, Women's Only Swims, and birthday parties. Come for a free swim, sponsored by Westminster Savings, on the second Sunday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Personal Training

Personal training is available with a selection of trainers to choose from. Fill out a request in the Personal Trainer Brochure or complete the personal trainer request form and one of our trainers will contact you.

We're happy to answer any questions regarding programs, rental opportunities, or community projects. Everyone is welcome!

    Multi-Purpose Room 3:  Group workout focused on endurance, agility, balance and core strength.

12:00PM

  • Drop-In Fitness: Yoga - Adult 12:00PM - 12:45PMexpand

    Multi-Purpose Room 3:  Features a combination of postures that focus on breathing, stretching and strengthening.

6:00PM

  • Drop-In Fitness: Bootcamp 6:15PM - 7:15PMexpand

    Multi-Purpose Room 3:  Increase strength, stamina and flexibility with a variety of fitness and athletic conditioning drills.

7:00PM

  • Drop-In Fitness: Cardio Combo - Adult 7:30PM - 8:30PMexpand

    Multi-Purpose Room 3:  Cardio workout combining a variety of formats such as step, high/low, cardio drills or cardio kickbox followed by muscle conditioning and stretching. This class will be run as a circuit style workout with multiple fitness stations, and focus on a full body, functional training style of workout.
