Surrey, BC – For the third year in a row, the City of Surrey’s Love Where You Live campaign is set to officially launch on April 22. The city-wide clean up and beautification initiative has proven to be popular with 7,000 bags of litter collected and more than 24,000 trees and bulbs planted since the campaign’s inception.

“Since Love Where You Live was introduced in 2019, the results have been nothing short of remarkable,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “It’s abundantly clear that Surrey residents and business owners not only take great pride in their city but have also stepped up to ensure Surrey stays clean and beautiful. I have no doubt Love Where You Live will be even more successful this year as more and more people take part in this great initiative. You don’t have to wait until April to get started. You can begin today by joining the 20 Minute Clean Up Challenge for your neighbourhood. It’s amazing how much we can accomplish when we all pull together with a common goal and I look forward to an even better year for our Love Where You Live campaign.”

Here are some of the Love Where You Live programs and initiatives that will take place this year:

  • 20 Minute Clean Up Challenge
  • Large Item Pick-up
  • Neighbourhood beautification and enhancement grants of up to $3000
  • Storefront enhancement grants
  • Park cleanups
