City of Surrey Brings Back Free Kid’s Conference Nov 18-20
Surrey, BC – The City of Surrey is hosting a free Kid’s Conference for children 6-12 years from November 18-20, 2021, in person at various venues across the city. The conference celebrates Universal Children’s Day, a global UN initiative held annually on November 20 to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improve children's welfare.
Activities designed to bring Surrey children together this year include: Bannock making, science fair, dance party, scavenger hunt, t-shirt decorating, button making and swimming. So that more children may participate, this year’s event is being held at seven recreation centers across the city. Admission is free, but registration is required. Appropriate health protocols will be in place.
“Surrey has such a young population, it’s important that we continue to celebrate the diversity of the children who live here and provide opportunities for them to come together and explore with one another”, said Carla Colquhoun, manager, middle years programs. “We’re excited to make this year’s Kid’s Conference more accessible for all, by making it free and hosting activities in each town centre.”
