Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey announces the launch of its highly anticipated Park Play program, an initiative that provides an array of free activities and games for families, children and youth. Running throughout July and August, the program will take place in select park locations. Families can join the fun at Goldstone Park and Robson Park on Tuesdays; Hazelgrove Park on Thursdays; and Redwood Park and Edgewood Park on Fridays.

Park Play is led by trained City staff who will facilitate engaging games and activities. Families can also enjoy self-guided kits that contain various equipment like balls, skipping ropes, and catchers. In some locations, there will be additional spray park items such as sprayers, bubbles, and sponge balls.

Games like bocce and Spikeball can be borrowed, ensuring that families can have a blast playing with their loved ones and friends. It is important to note that parent participation is required, and City staff will not be responsible for participants during the activities.

Promoting environmental stewardship is an integral part of Park Play. Participants will also receive valuable information on how to care for and respect our parks, including the importance of packing out any waste brought into the park.

Park Play is one of the many programs, activities and events offered by Surrey Parks to encourage residents and visitors to connect with the outdoors and celebrate our parks as part of supporting an engaged and healthy community.
