Surrey, BC – Gear up for the excitement as the 12th annual Canadian Tire Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival Fueled by Gatorade (WickFest) returns to Surrey ice from February 1 to 4, 2024. This event will take place at North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex and the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex and offers family-friendly events and activities for hockey-lovers of all ages to experience and enjoy.

“Surrey is proud to support and host this premier international event that continues to serve as an inspiration to so many young female hockey players,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “I would like to invite all to come down and cheer on these incredible athletes from across Canada and the United States. The festival isn’t just about hockey. It's about celebrating the spirit of community and inspiring young athletes to dream big and go for the gold.”

WickFest provides a platform to spotlight and develop female hockey players and inspire young girls to take up the sport. This year’s festival will showcase talents like Emma Misak, a Surrey breakdancer who competed in the Pan Am Games and is preparing for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the BeaYOUtiful Foundation, and a Vancouver Canucks shooting setup and booth.

Over 80 teams from across Canada and the United States will compete in Surrey. Participants range in age from 8 to 18. Games will be open to the public to watch. Visit wickfest.com for event information. 100% of event profits go to JumpStart and Right to Play.

"We’re looking forward to another great event in Surrey and thank the City for their ongoing support and for providing such world-class facilities” said Hayley Wickenheiser, five-time Olympic Gold Medalist and founder of the event. "Our goal is to inspire and see these young athletes grow not only as players but as young people with the understanding of what it takes to become truly exceptional hockey players."

The City of Surrey would like to thank WickFest, the Surrey Falcons and our Sport Surrey partners: Discover Surrey and the Surrey Hotel and Motel Association.
