Surrey, BC – The City of Surrey is calling for public participation in an engagement Shape your Space campaign to seek input on a new multi-purpose community centre in Newton.

As part of the first phase of the engagement, the city has launched a survey to seek feedback from residents, community members and stakeholders. Input gathered will help shape a modern and sustainable community centre designed to meet the needs of a diverse and growing population.

Surrey City Council approved this project in December 2020 as part of the Surrey Invests 5-year capital program.

This inclusive and universally accessible facility will meet the vision and goals of the City’s sustainability Charter including proposed energy efficient features that will support the City’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions reduction targets.

The addition of the Newton Community Centre facility will complement the City’s vision to be a thriving green and inclusive City.

Input from stakeholders will inform the design of recreation, culture and library amenities and programs that are critical for this growing community.

Residents who take the survey may enter for a chance to win a $100 gift card. The survey is open until September 12, 2021.
