Two-day celebration of Indigenous arts, crafts and culture coming to Museum of Surrey
Museum of Surrey will be celebrating Indigenous artists and performers from across the province.
Surrey, BC – Museum of Surrey will be celebrating Indigenous artists and performers from across the province with music, dance, food and art on Saturday July 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday July 14 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cedar Sage & Sweetgrass is a free event that features two incredible days of Indigenous food, music, artwork and cultural sharing. Grab a bite to eat from the Tradish the Ancestor’s Cafe food truck and experience the rich cultural history of Canada’s Indigenous people through the arts.
There is also a special opportunity to meet the talented artists that have dedicated their lives to their arts, craft and culture.
Meet Kalum Teke Dan, featured artist, Maryanne Landrie, Pat Calihou, Ronald George Straight, John Spence, Sheila Rae Lowe, Patti Williams, Chantelle Trainor-Matties, Anna Matthews, Cat Aldred, Clayton Williams and more.
“We are honoured to host this celebration,” said Lynn Saffery, museum manager. “This experience is for all ages and is one that showcases an incredible group of Indigenous artists from across Western Canada.”
Cedar Sage and Sweetgrass is an Indigenous art group created by Maryanne Lindberg and Patrick Calihou that facilitates art shows and indigenous events throughout B.C.
