Celebrate Surrey youth with a range of fun activities during B.C. Youth Week May 1-7
The City of Surrey is proud to take part in B.C. Youth Week from May 1–7 with lots of fun and free activities that draw the diverse interests and accomplishments of Surrey youth.
Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey is proud to take part in B.C. Youth Week from May 1–7 with lots of fun and free activities that draw the diverse interests and accomplishments of Surrey youth. Events are taking place over the action-packed week and have been developed for youth aged 10 to 18 years old.
"The City of Surrey is proud to join in the celebration of B.C. Youth Week and honour the diverse and talented young individuals in our community," said Mayor Brenda Locke. "This week provides a platform for our youth to proudly display their skills and creativity, and we are excited to provide a variety of engaging and cost-free activities for their enjoyment. Surrey has the largest youth population in B.C., and I encourage our young people to take a look at the activities we’re offering this year, explore their unique interests and have fun with their peers.”
From drop-in sports, video games tournaments, cooking challenges, crochet and jewellery making, there really is something for everyone. The week will end off with the annual Service Above Self Surrey Youth (SASSY) Awards at Surrey Arts Centre on May 7 to recognize exceptional youth in our community.
BC Youth Week is a provincial celebration for youth held annually during the first week of May. The celebration is intended to build a strong connection between youth and their communities.
