City Kicks off Sounds of Summer Free Outdoor Concert Series
The City of Surrey kicks off Sounds of Summer, a series of free outdoor concerts taking place throughout Surrey this July and August on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey kicks off Sounds of Summer, a series of free outdoor concerts taking place throughout Surrey this July and August on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Music lovers are invited enjoy folk music at the following dates and locations:
- Surrey Civic Plaza on July 5
- Venezuelan folk at The Glades Woodland Garden on July 12
- Métis fiddle and hip hop at Museum of Surrey on July 19
- Modern jazz big band at Darts Hill Garden Park on July 26
- Bollywood dancing, dhol drumming, and DJ set at Surrey Civic Plaza on August 2
- New Orleans-style brass band at Clayton Community Centre on August 9
- Steely Dan cover band at Historic Stewart Farm on August 16
- Westcoast Reggae at Holland Park on August 23
- Soul, R&B and Motown at Surrey Civic Plaza on August 30
Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on during the performances. Artists will perform outdoors on a stage with sound equipment. No tickets or pre-registration required.
Sounds of Summer is one of the many programs, activities and events offered by the City of Surrey to encourage residents and visitors to connect with the outdoors and celebrate music as part of supporting an engaged and healthy community.
