Surrey, B.C. – The City of Surrey has your Family Day long weekend plans covered! Patrons can enjoy a variety of free or low-cost events taking place from February 16 to February 19 at recreation facilities, arenas, Darts Hill Garden Park, Museum of Surrey and Historic Stewart Farm. 

“This is a great opportunity for the whole family to celebrate locally at a facility in their neighborhood,” said Lisa White, Director of Recreation Services. “We aim to provide affordable and fun activities for all ages and abilities to stay active and engaged in their community.” 

Family Day activities include: 

  • Free games, arts and crafts and sports at recreation facilities 
  • Free arts, recreation and libraries activities at Clayton Community Centre including completion of Yarn Around—a community knitting project and Surrey SPARK Stages' free presentation of Foolish Operation's Tricoter 
  • A Western-themed skate hosted at Surrey’s five arenas — drop in admission applies and skate and helmet rentals are available 
  • Free outdoor activities including, story time, live music, watercolour painting, winter tree pruning workshops and more at Darts Hill Garden Park 
  • Board games, a scavenger hunt, and photos with mascot Raj the Raccoon at Museum of Surrey 
  • Farmhouse tours and heritage demonstrations at Historic Stewart Farm 

Patrons are encouraged to arrive early to their desired Family Day event as parking lots may be busier than usual. Visit surrey.ca/familyday for more event information.
