The City of Surrey is excited to announce the return of Winter Ice Palace at Cloverdale Arena this month. Back for its 24th year, the event will feature twinkling lights, colourful decorations, cheerful music and more from December 18, 2023, to January 7, 2024.

“The Winter Ice Palace is a cherished holiday tradition that has brought joy to countless individuals over the last two decades,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “With the rising cost of living, this event continues to provide an affordable activity for families in our community. I invite you to register online so you can get your session time for this wonderful winter holiday experience.”

Patrons will be required to register for their 90-minute skating session, up to 72 hours in advance of its start time. The limited capacity registration process offers participants guaranteed ice time and reduced congestion for an enhanced experience.

Registration is required for every member of a party at a cost of $4.75 per person. For those with an Annual Recreation Pass or Family Fun Pass, admission is free, but registration is still required. While participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment, skate and helmet rentals will be available for purchase in-person.

This year’s event will offer a variety of opportunities to connect, socialize and embrace the spirit of the season. On December 23, Santa Claus will trade his signature boots for a pair of ice skates during a ‘Skate with Santa’, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm and 3:30 – 5:00 pm. Participants can also enter the ‘Say Freeze!’ photo contest by simply taking a photo during their session, tagging @surreybcrec on Instagram and using the hashtag #WinterIcePalace for a chance to win a prize package worth over $100.
