Benefits of Researching Onsite

Don a pair of archival gloves and delve into the past! Archives staff will streamline your research experience by consulting digitized in-house records and reference files dating back to the late 1800s. While you are here, you may also:

  • View original records

  • Browse our large reference library collection containing over 1,000 titles focused on local history

  • Listen to recorded interviews with Surrey residents as they reminisce about life, work and play

  • Leaf through council minutes and newspaper to track local developments

  • Consult the Map Collection, some of which are too large or fragile to be digitized for viewing digitally at home
