Updating the Park Master Plan

The existing master plan for Latimer Park was completed in 2006, and since then Campbell Heights has seen significant change. A master plan update is underway to ensure that two upcoming infrastructure projects will integrate and benefit the park and its visitors:

  • A drainage project that will introduce storm water from the north into the lake. This will include a new wetland area that will provide habitat enrichment and water quality improvements.
  • Completion of 28 Ave which will allow the City to improve safety, accessibility and parking.

About Latimer Park

Latimer Park is an old gravel quarry, located at the southeast corner of 192 Street and 28 Avenue. The quarry has since flooded and formed Latimer Lake, in the centre of the park. The park is predominantly undeveloped, although you will find a number of pathways, including a loop that goes around the lake. Access to the park can be found on 28 Avenue, about 130 meters east of 192 Street.
