Surrey, BC – City of Surrey recently completed the resurfacing of artificial turf fields located at Hjorth Road Park and Cloverdale Athletic Park. The resurfacing was done as part of the Surrey Invests capital projects program approved by Council on November 30, 2020.

The capital program identified five artificial turf field replacements which includes three remaining locations earmarked for artificial turf resurfacing including Newton Athletic Park, Tom Binnie Park and South Surrey Athletic Park, which are scheduled to be completed in 2022.

“As Surrey continues to lead the region in the number of artificial turf fields available for public use, Council is pleased to invest in resurfacing five of the fifteen turf fields the city operates,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “Surrey’s numerous turf fields are in constant use by our local sport clubs for practices, games and tournaments. Given the high demand for these fields, it makes good sense to keep them in good condition for all to enjoy.”
