Bob Rutledge Park
Play some tennis or have a picnic in this park in the Panorama neighbourhood of Newton.
City parks are open for casual use. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, stay home when sick, stay 2 metres apart, do not gather in groups, and wear a mask in crowded spaces. Spectators for outdoor sports are not permitted as per new public health orders.
The Bob Rutledge play area is under construction and closed to the public. The play area is scheduled to open in summer 2021.
Dawn until Dusk
Bob Rutledge Park is a 2.8 hectare (7 acre) park located within the South Panorama Ridge neighbourhood of South Newton. The park dates back to 1956 when an initial parcel of land was acquired by the City.
At the south end of the park you'll find a small playground, tennis courts, a half basketball court and lots of open green space. In the north you'll find a number of great walking trails that lead through a forested area.
The park is accessible from 148 Street, where you will find on-street parking.
The play area located at the south end of the park is under construction and closed to the public. The playground equipment is being replaced and the play area is being resurfaced. The play area is scheduled to re-open to the public in summer 2021.
