Swimming Lessons, Schedules, Bookings & Rentals

Swim outdoors or take swimming lessons at Port Kells Pool in Surrey.

Port Kells Pool is located in Port Kells Park. There's a washroom building with change rooms, and plenty of parking available off 88 Avenue.

We are modifying our procedures in consultation with the Lifesaving Society of BC and Fraser Health to ensure the safety of both our patrons and staff.

For Everyone’s Safety:

  • Pools will have reduced capacity to ensure physical distancing can be maintained.
  • Public swim times will be in 45-minute blocks to ensure access for all.
  • Patrons who are sick will not be allowed entry.
  • Please come dressed to swim. Changeroom access will be limited to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
  • Please bring all belongings with you to the pool deck.
  • Please follow directional signage around the pool.
  • Enhanced first aid and lifeguard rescue procedures will be in place.
  • Expect enhanced cleaning and sanitization protocols.
  • Lifejackets will not be provided this year, but you may bring your own.
  • Lane swimming at Bear Creek Park Pool and Hjorth Road Pool only during specified times.
  • No special family times.
  • Pool toys will not be permitted.
  • There will be no private rentals or birthday party bookings this year.

Please note: We will actively monitor outdoor pools throughout the summer and may modify procedures as necessary.

Swim Lessons

​This year, all Surrey’s outdoor pools will offer free, modified swim lessons from certified instructors. Please note, a caregiver 14 years of age or older is required to be in the water with any child receiving lessons.
