Most Parks, Recreation & Culture facilities have reopened. Low intensity group fitness classes is suspended as of March 30, 2021.

Masks are required to be worn at all times during exercise with no exceptions. This is to ensure that patrons remain safe while exercising in City of Surrey fitness centres and gymnasiums. Anyone with a mask exemption is encouraged to exercise outside at this time.

Swim outdoors with your family and friends at Bear Creek Pool.

Bear Creek Pool is located in Bear Creek Park, located near 88th Avenue and King George Boulevard in Surrey. Enjoy both the park amenities and the pool for a perfect setting on a hot summer's day. Admission to the pool is free.

We are modifying our procedures in consultation with the Lifesaving Society of BC and Fraser Health to ensure the safety of both our patrons and staff.

 

For Everyone’s Safety:

  • Pools will have reduced capacity to ensure physical distancing can be maintained.
  • Public swim times will be in 45-minute blocks to ensure access for all.
  • Patrons who are sick will not be allowed entry.
  • Please come dressed to swim. Changeroom access will be limited to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
  • Please bring all belongings with you to the pool deck.
  • Please follow directional signage around the pool.
  • Enhanced first aid and lifeguard rescue procedures will be in place.
  • Expect enhanced cleaning and sanitization protocols.
  • Lifejackets will not be provided this year, but you may bring your own.
  • No special family times.
  • Pool toys will not be permitted.
  • There will be no private rentals or birthday party bookings this year.

Please note: We will actively monitor outdoor pools throughout the summer and may modify procedures as necessary.

 

Swim Lessons

This year, all Surrey’s outdoor pools are offering Red Cross swimming lessons from certified instructors. Please note: depending on the age and level of the child in lessons, a caregiver 14 years of age or older may be required to be in the water with the child receiving lessons.
