Fishing Licence Requirements
Everyone ages 16 years and older must possess a licence to fish in Surrey. Make sure to check what type of licence you need and keep a printed copy with you when you go.
At Green Timbers Lake, a freshwater fishing licence is required. Visit the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Angling Licences and Fees for more information.
At Brownsville Bar Park and Surrey Wharf, a Tidal Fishing Licence is required. Visit the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Recreational Licensing for more information.

Learn to Fish Programs
Learn to fish with the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC at Green Timbers Lake. This hands-on program for ages 5 to 15 includes a lesson on fish habitat and conservation as well as time to try out fishing. Equipment is provided.
